Savor & Flavor with Swanson stock, broth & Flavor Boost®

Try these tips to taste the delicious difference Swanson makes in nearly everything you cook.

  1. You’ll be amazed at how versatile Swanson broth is and how easy it is to use! The broth’s well-seasoned taste is perfect for soups or for simmering vegetables, rice, pasta and potatoes (use any remaining cooking liquid in a batch of soup for extraordinary flavor!). Swanson broth is also a terrific way to add a little moisture and flavor to leftovers when reheating.
  2. Curious about how to incorporate Swanson stock in your cooking? The rich, robust, meaty flavor of stock is ideal for meat dishes, gravies and sauces. For a new twist on a classic French dip sandwich, warm sliced roast chicken or turkey from the deli or thinly sliced leftover roast pork in Swanson chicken or beef stock with a sprig or two of fresh thyme (or a pinch of dried leaves) and a splash of dry white wine. Pile the meat onto toasted hoagie rolls and serve with small cups of the warm stock on the side for dipping!
  3. To keep meats moist and tender and add a layer of flavor, baste them during roasting with Swanson stock. Or, after sautéing meats in a skillet, add a little stock to loosen the browned bits clinging to the bottom of the pan (this is called “deglazing”) and use this as the base for a simple sauce.
  4. Brush meats and poultry on the grill with Swanson broth or stock to add a layer of flavor and help keep the meat moist and juicy during cooking.
  5. Poach chicken breasts or fish fillets in Swanson chicken stock or broth for a dish that’s low in calories but full of flavor. Simply simmer stock or broth in a skillet with a touch of white wine, lemon juice and your favorite herbs (rosemary is perfect with chicken; fish and dill are perfect together).
  6. Try new Swanson® Flavor Boost® concentrated broth to add deep, rich flavor to entrées and side dishes. For more information and delicious recipes featuring Swanson Flavor Boost, click here.
  7. Have some leftover stock or broth? Freeze it in an ice cube tray. Then, if a gravy needs thinning or you need just a bit of broth to add moisture to leftovers or smooth out mashed potatoes, just add a cube or two of stock or broth!
